Park Assist has added Elmer Velasquez to the firm’s Latin American branch as Project & Service Coordinator. Velasquez will serve the market from Park Assist’s LatAm sales office in Panama City, Panama.
According to Park Assist, Velasquez brings significant experience in technology operations, customer service, and training, in addition to being bilingual in Spanish and English. His addition to the LatAm team is aimed at broadening Park Assist’s customer support and project delivery for planned expansion in the region.
The company says Velasquez’ experience in the market and relationship management leadership reinforces their commitment to service for their partners and clients.
Originally from Guatemala, Velasquez has lived in Panama for the last 22 years. He enjoys running marathons and lifting weights when he is not spending time with his wife and two children.
Joe Ruggero, Vice President of Global Development for Park Assist said, “As the LATAM branch grows in size and sophistication, Elmer was the perfect addition to the team and will strengthen our business immeasurably by providing strong delivery and service support to our portfolio and partners, perpetuating further growth”.
U.S.-based Park Assist is an example of a North American company beginning to recognize the growing stature of developing markets for mobility management services in Central and South America. “We are having some success in Latin America with new projects in Chile, El Salvador, Mexico, Panama and Honduras,” Park Assist CEO Gary Neff told H2.
According to an article in the Los Angeles Times, “Latin American countries including Brazil, Peru, Argentina and Colombia also are seeing car sales skyrocket. A rapidly expanding middle class and easier credit are feeding the regionwide boom.”
